January 2015, Jeanstar SA expands towardMatran (FR), where she opened a factory to produce oscillating weights. And expects to relaunch the prestigious Swiss watch brand Damas, which was founded in 1903 in Tramelan and gained worldwide reputation in the 70s.  Jeanstar SA hopes to revive the brand that became extinct in 1984 due to the watchmaking crisis.

The first plant of the Swiss-Chinese watches opened in the canton of Fribourg, Matran. It mainly produces oscillating masses - the component of the automatic movement - for many watch companies in Switzerland.

The production had already begun in 2010 in the Jura Arc. But the company Jeanstar SA, part of the capital comes from China, decided to expand and establish themselves in the canton of Fribourg-the center of Switzerland. With nearly 8 million Swiss francs investment, Jeanstar SA becomes the second largest Swiss supplier to provide oscillating masses after the company Zürcher Frères aux Bois in Jura.

Jeanstar SA is hoping that with the completion of the watch production line, she could create more job opportunities in this region. And the company is working towards opening more gates for commercial trading between China and Swiss.
